WAS ENGLAND AND CITY ATTORNEY GIBSON SETTING COFFEY UP?

First of all let us be perfectly HONEST with our readers, WE are NOT big supporters of Councilman Coffey.

But...

After attending last Wednesday's special council meeting on the budget and then reading Thursday's "Confusion over past loans, city financial obligations, something is NOT making sense."

But...

Something smells really fishy after reading this article.

First, we want to know:

Why weren't Deputy Mayor Malysz and Controller Garry present at that meeting?

England who recently had neck surgery, but has been spotted with Malysz and Council member Benedetti at Studio's Bar, and who is being chauffeured all over town by City Attorney Gibson.

Is that why Gibson is being paid $150,000 a year and is that in his job description?

Ok, lets get back to: Confusion mounts over past loans, city financial obligations, and why we feel Coffey is being set up.

What hits us really strange, was sitting there watching City Attorney Gibson pacing back and forth, then going in the hall but never spoke up at the Council meeting when the budget problems were being discussed.

After reading this article it seem like City Attorney Gibson had a lot to say, after the fact to the newspaper:

"City Attorney Shane Gibson said in a phone interview after the meeting there's nothing to cut beyond the $813,376 the council already know about."

* Oh really? That's NOT what Council President Coffey told us!

"the city's audit should not have been discussed by Coffey or other council members that attended the Tuesday meeting, Gibson and Mayor Doug England said."

* Why was England making these remarks about the discussion when he was not present at that meeting?

"New Albany has some time to respond to the audit prepared by the State Board of Accounts before it becomes official, Gibson said. Therefore the initial report is still preliminary."

That is "bullshit" Mr. Gibson!

What does the England Administration have to hide?

Plenty, wait until you taxpayers see the 2008 Audit!!!!!

It's going to come out and NO amount of SPIN is going to "cover up" what this Administration did with tax payers money in 2008.

We think the legal term is called "malfeasance!"

We decided to call Charlie Pride at the State Board of Accounts @ 317-232-2521. He stated this is not a complete AUDIT of the City of New Albany, and what they found will be public record when this audit is released. He had NO clue what City Attorney Gibson could be talking about.

He went on to explain: An exit review is for the purpose of a discussion with local officials about what the State Board of Accounts found in city records, payroll, spending, TIF's, departments and our accounting practices for a certain year.

They call in the Mayor, City Attorney, Council President, Controller and various others.

Our understanding that additional members of the council were there: Gahan, Caesar, Benedetti to hear the results.

Freedom Of Speech would like to say:

First IF Coffey or one of the other council members who attended the "exit review" said anything they shouldn't have, why didn't City Attorney Gibson speak up?

Several time during the discussions. Councilman Coffey stated we can't discuss it until the report comes out.

We realize the Mayor has his underwear in a wad over several comments made about him. But, we will give Coffey credit when credit is do, he hit the nail right on the head when he said: "This administration has overspent. They are out of hand."

* Praise the Lord, someone finally admitted it!

As far as the mayors statement goes, he wouldn't want Coffey in a fox hole with him and Coffey should apologize for his other comments."

We are with Dan, until HELL freezes over and when the donkey's fly, will he ever apologize!

Our final thoughts, to Mrs. Garry who said, she knew nothing until she read it in the C/J.

Freedom Of Speech under the FOIA was emailed the info from DLGF after the England Administration was notified. We sat on the information for two days to see what the England Administration would announce the state decision on the budget request.

Like we said you can SPIN this anyway you want to when this 2008 audit comes out the England Administration is going to need more than a bulldozer and a backhoe to dig his way out!

Just waiting for the next shoe to drop...

Round 2 tonight, with Department Heads starting at 5 pm.

"Give'em Hell Councilman Price!"

OUR TRIP TO WASHINGTON

According to the media, members of the Democrat congress, Democrat spokesperson and former President Jimmy Carter, we are all racist.

Why?

Because we were proud members of the 9/12 March on Washington.

They play on words, have you noticed?

They are the Democrat Party now calling themselves the Democratic Party inferring we are not for democracy. They are now calling themselves Progressives, inferring we are not someone who wants to progress. You and we know that is political speaking for the same thing as Socialism not that they think it sounds better.

We do not agree with President Obama concerning healthcare, bailouts crap and tax, his many czars, and his actions concerning Israel!

If we understand what we see in the newspapers and other media, our attendance at the 9/12 march and our rejection of lock step liberal policies makes us all racist and right wing extremists.

Well, to set the record straight, we are neither RACIST or an EXTREMISTS group.

We are NO longer Democrats, Republicans, or Independents.

We are ALL Americans first, last and always... before party affiliation!

March day, September 12th:

What a wonderful and inspiring experience! To be standing with well over 1 million other patriots who love their country enough to fight to try to save it.

Two things that moved us:

* When we all sang the National Anthem. Tears, goosebumps, and the true sense of peace and unity. We cried through out the song as we held our hand to our hearts and looked up to the flag waving high over our nations Capitol...

There is almost nothing much more spiritual than that.

* The second thing was how the weather held off the rain. There were several times it felt like the storm was going to hit. But, God saw fit to hold off the storm. How symbolic of the very reason for our attendance: to hold off the coming storm.

We have had over two weeks now to absorb the events of September 12th. We don't know of any amount of time will every be enough.

When we walked into the sunshine and got our first look at Pennsylvania Avenue, our eyes filled with tears. There were raucous chants of USA! USA! and even a chorus of God Bless America.

We made our way to the street.

It was the most massive crowd we had ever seen, anywhere, in our lives. In every direction, as far as the eye could see, were seas of people, waving flags, carrying signs, chanting, talking, and laughing.

The march was not scheduled to start for over an hour - we were supposed to be gathering a block to the east - but the crowds had long since overflowed the space allocated.

It was an en stoppable force of nature - a melding of kindred souls into one enormous, cohesive mass of humanity.

As we moved en mass towards the Capital, we talked with dozens of people, comparing notes on where we were from, how long it had taken them to get there, why it was so important to us.

Every person knew, with complete accuracy, the stories about the stimulus, TARP, ACORN, Obama's czars - they were well-informed on all the offenses of government since well before the beginning of Obama's term.

And we were all determined to get the message across to Congress and the world - NO MORE!

We all chanted, "Can you hear us now!"

There were babies and children, teens and seniors. Every size, shape and color of person imaginable. People with walkers and in wheelchairs, even a few on crutches. There were people who could not walk far enough to go to the Capital, but had travelled to get there, to sit on a bench on the sidewalk to cheer the rest of us on.

It felt like the biggest, most wonderful family reunion in history.

Throughout the rally, even during the unpleasant times, like waiting 30 minutes in line to use one of the port-a-potties, not one cross word.

There were so many people that it was impossible not to bump into each other, but each bump was followed by, "Oh, excuse me! I am so sorry!" and "No problem!"

We really enjoyed reading the hundreds of thousands of creative signs.

They were very cleaver and funny and powerful. One said "No matter what I put on this sign, I will be called a racist anyway."

So true...

The ugly ones even offended us and of course were the most shown on liberal media!

One of our favorites were the people each carrying portraits of the founding fathers with tears running down their faces, and the one of George Washington addressing Congress with his hands raised asking Pelosi, Reid and Obama "WTF are you all doing?"

The issues written on our signs suffice to get our points across.

We wish we could find the words to explain to those of you who could not attend, how it was an honor to be there and what an amazing experience it was.

You see it all depicted through the filter of the media - mostly left-leaning (or worse) and virtually all clueless. They have not stood among the protesters, listening to the conversations.

They, and you, if you haven't been there, simply don't understand.

Yes, the people who attend the 9/12 March on Washington are angry, no doubt.

But they are so much more.

We would, literally, trust these people to stand with us and fight. We have met thousands of people, talked with them, shared stories - they are all our brothers and sisters.

They all love their country, enough to die for it if necessary. They are all good, hard-working, respectful individuals who only want to be free.

They were friendly, kind and helpful.

These people who attended love God, their families, their fellow man, but most of all they love their country.

They believe, with every fiber of their being, in the sanctity of the United States Constitution as the supreme and unbreakable law of the land.

Like we said, the tears came often on that Saturday - tears of pride, tears of joy, tears of happiness, tears of overwhelming emotions as we absorb the fact that we was with a million or more people who shared our love of country and were as determined as to not let her go astray.

Then we thought of all of those at home [back in Indiana], who had been cheering us on and saying how much they wished they could go - there must have been at least 200 people that we were representing.

The realization while flying back brought a peace we have not felt for a very long time - with that many good people to defend her, American cannot fail.

Our country, your country, will come through this, and will emerge stronger that she has been in our lifetime.

Thank you to all of our fellow marchers, those who could go to D.C. and those who could not.

The spirit of the Founding Father's lives on in each and everyone of these wonderful people!

God Bless America!!!!!!!!

----

BTW, we spoke to a DC police officer who said in his 36 years experience, this was the largest crowd he ever saw, the most peaceful well-behave crowd, and the cleanest crowd.

Not even ONE arrest...

Would we March on Washington D.C. again?

Absolutely!

REVISED 2009 BUDGET:

The revised budget 2009 report has been sent to city officials showing the error correction of:

The corrected 2009 General Fund Budget is: $14,499,572.

September 29, 2009

Quote: "The department (DLGF) reviewed the budget numbers and found that the city had reported a loan from TIF funds in one part of budget documents after a mid-year reporting date. Even though the temporary loan was repaid, the offsetting repayment wasn't reported in city documents sent to the state, said agency spokes woman Amanda Stanley."

They included the obligation and should not have, Stanley said."

MILLION MED MARCH...

Doctors, Nurses, and Staffs,

There is a "million Med March" at DC (John Marshall Park) at 12:00 pm on October 1, 2009 to oppose Obamacare.

They need medical malpractice reform, with caps on all damages, so that they can practice without the fear of needless and unwarranted lawsuits that only benefit attorneys.

Participate in this event to help defeat government takeover of healthcare as well as to re-establish the honor, dignity and worth of the medical profession!

Freedom Of Speech would like to say:

First things first. Congratulations Mayor England. You are the first Mayor in the history of our GREAT City of New Albany, to have put our entire General Fund in the RED!

Secondly, on February 2, 2009 Mayor Douglas B. England said and we quote: "Despite the fiscal turbulence of 2008, the City's operating budgets for 2008 ended the year in the black."

"What were you smoking Mayor England, when you lied to us taxpayers?"

Now you and Maylsz want to play the BLAME game...

Good Grief!

You call this leadership Mayor England?

2009 NEW ALBANY GENERAL FUND HAS BEEN RELEASED BY THE STATE...

General Fund Report for 2009 has been released by the State of Indiana.
The General Fund Budget for 2008 shows:

* Budget - $15,518,888

* TAX LEVY - $10,587,145

* Tax Rate - 0.6968

The newly released 2009 General Fund Report shows:

* Certified Budget for 2009 - $10,449,572

* TAX LEVY - $8,782,573

* Tax Rate - 0.6625

The City of New Albany requested $15,312,948 for the 2009 General Fund Budget. The 2009 General Fund was approved at $10,499,572.

When we do our math, it shows that the city is facing a $4,813,376.00 cut in our General Fund.

Our Council needs to study and do their homework to show the taxpayers where they are going to cut $4,813,376. off the 2009 General Fund.

We compliment Councilman Price who has been repeating that we should not be floating bonds and spending money we don't have!

Who said this was the best Council we ever had?

Well Roger, was that ghetto, white trash, nickel & dime, slumlord right or what?

Great job Jethro!!!!!!!

PELOSI, COSBY, AND CARTER...

We guess the White House strategy of using charges of racism to combat the peoples opposition to it's agenda wasn't working so Pelosi, Cosby and Carter had to switch to a new fictional rant in the hopes that a different strategy might work.

The Democrats use African Americans much like Hamas and Hezbollah use women and children - as human shields!

Whenever they can't argue the merits of their agenda [which is most of the time] they trot out accusations of racism that they can hide behind. Smearing the opposition as being racist is the human shield strategy of the Democrats using African Americans as human shields.

Meanwhile no one accuses Democrats of being racist when all their policies have done so much harm to the people they profess to help.

No one accuses Democrats of being racist when they attack black conservatives like Michael Smith or Supreme Court Justice Thomas.

Have you ever seen signs from liberals like "We are not armed, this time." How many automatic weapons or handguns did liberals ostentatiously bring to their rallies?

Do you see the difference yet?

Pelosi needs to have a medical exam, clearly from statements she makes her thinking process is compromised. Her being third in line for the highest position in the United States is disturbing.

Her latest remarks were made only to incite the liberals and demean the conservatives.

Future generations when looking back upon history will be scratching their heads wondering how someone as unfit as Pelosi held such a high government position.

DID ENGLAND MISLEAD OUR COUNCIL...AGAIN?

The Floyd County Council has implemented a six step longevity pay schedule for full-time employees, excluding elected officials. Each step qualifies the employee for longevity pay increments. The amount of longevity step increments shall be determined annually by the County Council.

Floyd County Longevity Pay Schedule:

Step 0.....Less than 1 year .....$-0-
Step 1.....1 year of service......$200
Step 2.....2 years of service....$400
Step 3.....5 years of service....$700
Step 4.....10 years of service..$1,000
Step 5.....15 years of service..$1,200
Step 6.....20 years of service..$1,400

The difference between the County and City employees is this:

City employees get vacation pay, plus non-union raises and the County employees get longevity pay and non-union raises.

City non-union employees vacation pay is:
One (1) through five (5) years - Two Weeks pay
Six (6) through eleven (11) years - Three Weeks pay
Twelve (12) years or more - Four Weeks pay

As reported in the August 31, 2009 Tribune:

Our city Council will be voting on a one-time bonus for non-union employees. Mayor England CLAIMS this marked the third consecutive year their salaries have been frozen. But the council could give them a one-time cost of living stipend based on the amount of experience they have with the city.

If passed, the payment would be:

$1,000 for workers with one to five years of experience, $1,500 for employees with six to 10 years with the city and $2,000 for workers with more than 10 years under their belt.

Is this fair?

Was Councilman Steve Price right to vote NO the first time?

A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-l-Y....!

Out of 9 Council members, Mayor England, Controller Garry and City Council Attorney Robinson the only ONE to do their homework was Councilman Price!

Let us show you what Price is presenting to our Council tonight:

BILL NO. A-07-25 - ORDINANCE NO. A-07-43

AN ORDINANCE SETTING SALARIES FOR THE YEAR 2008, FOR NON-BARGAINING UNIT EMPLOYEES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF NEW ALBANY, INDIANA, TO WIT:

SECTION 1. That the hourly, bi-weekly or monthly salaries for each and every appointive officer, full-time employee, deputies, assistants, departmental and institutional heads, part-time and hourly employees of the City of New Albany, Indiana, for the year 2008 be and are set in the amounts that follow and be paid 26 times in 2008!

PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW ALBANY THIS 20 DAY OF September, 2007.

Does this prove Mayor England was misleading the Council in his statement when he said: this is the third consecutive year their salaries have been frozen?

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!

We want to quote City Council minutes of Sept 6, 2007 for the 2008 Budget:

"Mrs. Garry stated, that this was a 3% raise across the board." All voted in favor.

Didn't Mayor England receive his $11,000 raise in January 2008, when he took office?

The difference between the County Council, they approve and stay on their budget, our City administration plays games with our tax dollars and doesn't live within their OWN budget.

That's why the County has $$$ and the City doesn't!

FROM OUR FRIENDS IN WASHINGTON:

Today House Republicans, led by Republican Leader John Boehner hand delivered the following letter to Obama asking him to use his authority to end all funding to and break all government ties with ACORN:

Dear Mr. President,

We write to you today in the wake of new reports of potentially criminal activity associates of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) to respectfully request that you use your authority to publicly disclose and terminate all federal funding to ACORN and its affiliates.

It is evident that ACORN is incapable of using federal funds in a matter that is consistent with the law. Immediate action is necessary to ensure that no additional tax dollars are directed to ACORN.

Simply put, ACORN should not receive another penny of American taxpayers' money.

Congressional pressure, coupled with the impact of recent media reports, prompted the U.S. Census Bureau on September 11 to end its partnership with ACORN. We support their decision by the Census Bureau, and believe it is vital that all other federal agencies with ties to ACORN follow the Census Bureau's example by severing all ties to ACORN and its affiliates, whether those ties consist of partnerships or the awarding of federal funds, including federal funds distributed through state and local governments from federal block grants.

This is a matter of common sense and respect for taxpayer dollars.

Last year, millions of Americans were outraged to learn their tax dollars were being used to subsidize an organization linked to multiple instances of VOTER REGISTRATION FRAUD and other illicit activity. An analysis of federal data by the Office of the Republican Leader determined that ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct funding from the federal government since 1994, and has likely received substantially more indirectly through states and localities that receive federal block grants.

The Census Bureau has made the commendable decision to sever ties with ACORN, and it is now critical that all remaining federal entities with ties to ACORN do the same. We ask that you use your authority to ensure that all federal funding of ACORN is publicly disclosed and terminated immediately.

To facilitate this effort, the Republican staff of the Oversight Committee has compiled a complete list of the corporations that form the ACORN Council, and we would be pleased to share it with you and members of your administration.

We thank you for your attention to this request.

Freedom Of Speech has a lot to say:

Finally!!!!!!!!!! you guys got your heads out of the sand, and will the democrats get involved now?

We know the president will try to insulate himself as he did in the case of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Rensko, Father Flaggerty, Rashid Khalidi, and Van Jones.

You forgot Senator Boehner in your letter to mention where 12 of 14 caucus were fixed by ACORN in the 08' primary!

This prohibition should include the entire Apollo Group which is the umbrella organization that includes both ACORN and SEIU [both headed up by the Rathke brothers.]

It is rotten from the top down.

Congress and the Senate must of leaned out the window on 9/12/09, and got their minds SERIOUSLY focused.

about bloody revolution, please be with us.

Let our hearts be pure with Love and Grace

so when those who try to incite anger and
fighting, we remain calm and peaceful with
one goal in mind.

REP JOE WILSON NAILS OBAMA!

Rep. Joe Wilson NAILED it last night when he rose up and called Obama a Liar!

Wilson's outburst came after Obama said that extending health care to all Americans who seek it would not mean insuring illegal immigrants.

"You lie!" Wilson shouted from his seat on the Republican side of the chamber.

Republicans froze, with several looking in Wilson's direction.

Did you see the look on Pelosi's face?

Absolutely...Priceless!

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi directed a fierce frown at him, it was reported to us that the first lady Michelle Obama pursed her lips and shook her head from side to side.

Vice President Joe Biden looked down and shook his head, too.

Someone on the right FINALLY had "the balls to stand up" and tell the emperor that he had NO clothes on!

Here in Washington this morning, House Majority Leader Hoyer said "I have never in my 29 years heard an outburst of that nature with reference to a president of the United States speaking as a guest of the House and Senate."

What a short memory this idiot has. What about the three times the Democrats made outburst against former President Bill Clinton and George Bush while speaking before the American people in the same house.

Wilson was ABSOLUTELY correct in his assessment of the Liar-in-Chief. The Center for Immigration Studies released their report this morning, exposing Obama's claim to be an outright lie.

"While the report found that federal subsidies to obtain health coverage would be restricted to U.S. citizens and legal residents, it also noted that the bill DOES NOT specify a citizenship verification system, something that critics say creates a loophole for undocumented immigrants to receive subsidies anyway."

This report just released, "Undermines the claims of the president and others that illegal immigrants would not be covered under the House version of the bill."

Is this the "Change you can believe in?" It's disheartening and outrageous how Obama's changes, broken promises, and falsehoods negatively impact all Americans.

He's not the first politician to do so, he won't be the last, but he certainly placed himself up on a pedestal during his campaign to convince millions of voters that he was above it all.

Above the corruption that has often plagued Washington. That he would bring our country into the age Of fairness, Of honesty, Of smaller government, Of lower taxes, of government accountability and fiscal responsibility!

That he and his sterling administration would be "the most transparent ever."

Not even close...

President Obama changed nothing about his plan. His speech did not move Congress and the Senate any closer to reforms that would put patients first. Instead, he vowed to "call out" people he deems as "misrepresenting" his plan.

Maybe it would help if he read H.R. 3200!

The American people have called out the president and congressional leaders for trying to force their version of health care reform on a public that doesn't want it. That's what the overwhelming response was at those town hall meetings and rallies over the last several months.

The president mocked the concerns of Americans who don't want to see these job-killing, tax-raising policies enacted.

Unfortunately, Wednesday's speech promised more things Washington can't deliver with it's current proposals - promising everyone can keep their current health plan and that reform as Obama imagines it would not add to our deficit.

Bullshit - do the Math!

This just reinforces why we are Marching on Washington!

We citizens are against government waste and deficit spending, against government-run auto companies, bailouts, Crap and Tax and socialized health care!

Our final thoughts:

In a letter to Henry Lee on Aug. 10, 1824, Thomas Jefferson wrote something that could be applied to the arrogant elites who have caused the rising anger in modern America:
"Men by their constitutions are naturally divided into two parties: 1. Those who fear and distrust the people, and wish to draw all powers from them into the hands of the higher classes. 2. Those who identify themselves with the people, have confidence in them, cherish and consider them as the most honest and safe, although not the most wise depository of the public interest..."

We the People will be heard on Saturday, September 12, 2009.

THE CLOCK IS TICKING....

When:

Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM (ET)

Where:

United States Capital, West Front
1st St. NW & Pennsylvania Ave, NW
Washington, DC

March Starting Time:

March on Washington starts at 11:30 down Pennsylvania Avenue

Come Join Freedom Of Speech for the 09.12.09 March on Washington.

We look forward to joining all of you across Indiana and America in taking an active role in our Constitutional Authority granted to us in the First Amendment to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the first being...

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances".

Why are we going?

For us this isn't about anyone issue. It is about the continual and progressive actions of a government that doesn't care what the American people want.

We believe in stand up for the principles this country was founded on. What better way to invest our time than in defending the principals of our founding fathers.

So for us, it is time to stand up and be counted as one who wants the government to be responsible, cut the budget, stop raising taxes, and be open about what they are doing. Health care reform is just one issue, Cap and Trade bill is bad for America, and our Mexican border is almost a war zone.

Our government and local government is full of fraud, excess and corruption and we taxpayers are shouldering the burden.

We are tired of being told WE have to cut back and WE have to be responsible and WE have to pay our taxes when government and local officials don't toe the same line.

Freedom Of Speech was selected by the organizing committee and we will proudly carry Indiana's State Flag. We have been notified all 50 states will be represented during the March on Washington.

(Fox News will be airing the event in Washington starting at 8:00 AM.)

Everyone that can afford to do so, needs to go to the big rally in Washington D.C. September 12, and let your voices be heard.

Come and join us and be a part of History!

HEALTHCARE CIRCLE...

I'm from the government and I've noticed the street in front of your home has a couple of potholes. We've decided to tear up the entire street and, instead of replacing the asphalt, we're going to use a different material.

This new material has failed everywhere we've used it but in theory, it should work just fine!

People who don't need cars seem quite satisfied with it.

And by the way, we're going to need your bank account number to help pay for the solution.

Thank you for your time!

COULDA, SHOULDA, WOULDA...

He sounded like a man who has been under a lot of self-inflicted stress, who wanted to find someone else to blame and wanted someone to feel sorry for him.

This was sad, desperate and pathetic!

Now, we don't know Pitino's wife, but would it be fair to suggest that her difficult time was NOT directly related to her husband being blackmailed, but instead to the fact that he did something to be blackmailed for?

The mess from cheating on his wife, his family and his reputation in an upscale restaurant.

Speaking of the upscale restaurant:

He didn't even bother to get a room, just banged her right there in the restaurant bathroom, with his assistant standing guard is only a one-time, momentary lapse.

Uh-huh...

Real classy, Pimptino!

You would at least think he would have took her to Motel 6 where they "always keep the light on" for you, and it's only $49.00!

Well for one who would like to see Bobby Knight back into coaching. Will take him throwing chairs and getting in players faces any day over a scum bag hypocrite like Rick Pitino. Knight has standards morals and convictions.

What is sad, all the tailored suits, million dollar contract and $400 haircuts in the world won't ever instill a sense of decency and honor back to this secretive scum bag.

The Court of Public Opinion MATTERS!

GO Wildcats!

COMMON SENSE...THINKING OUT LOUD:

Obama's latest buzzword "affordable".

What exactly does "Affordable Health Care mean?"

When a human hears the word "affordable", the word transmutes on their mind to mean something "they can afford" or something that is within their "Price Range".

Does "affordable" to someone like Bill Gates mean the same "price range" as someone who "flips" burgers at McDonald's?

Of course NOT, that is why "affordable" is a "buzzword" with little if any meaning and the definition is entirely different to each individual.

Barack Obama states that "Heath Care Insurance" today, is something only the WEALTHY can afford and his administration will cut costs and "streamline" requirements in such a way, that "everyone" will be able to afford "ObamaCare" and that he will make sure that ObamaCare is "Deficit Neutral".

Our common sense tells us:

* What exactly is a "PRICE" that the millions who are chronically unemployed can afford?

* What exactly is a "PRICE" that the millions who are retired can afford?

* What exactly is a "PRICE" that the millions who are on welfare can afford?

* What exactly is a "PRICE" that the millions who are drawing unemployment can afford?

* What exactly is a "PRICE" that the millions who are on Social Security can afford?

If the "PRICE" for ObamaCare will ensure deficit neutrality [pays for itself], how much will ObamaCare cost for each individual?

Barack Obama and Congress members will avoid that question as if the question were the plague because they know that in the likelihood the "Price for Health Care" - WILL increase - NOT decrease!

Common logic dictates one cannot buy "one pie" at the grocery for your family and feed 47 million more people with the same pie.

Care to dispute our common sense?

FROM OUR FRIENDS IN WASHINGTON:

Great news for the US economy. While unemployment continue to rise, Gov't Motors which was bailed out with "taxpayer money" not to long ago, has found $293 million to create jobs in China.

Why NOT jobs in the USA instead of China?

Not bad, for a company who recently filed bankruptcy.

You think!?!

We guess communists need to stick together, or is this another case of NO pressure being exerted?

Just think, it's only 2 billion yuan!

Does that make us taxpayers the new 50/50 owners with major Chinese automaker FAW Group?

We think we might re-ignite our attempt to learn chinese by giving "Rosetta Stone" another try.

Hook us up Biggs!

SPIRIT OF AMERICA...

Robert F. Kennedy once said:

"Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, these ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."

One does not have to agree with everything Ted Kennedy stood for to recognize his commitment and his uncanny ability to get bills passed.

May God bless his soul, may he finally rest in peace!

OBAMA'S ON VACATION...

10% unemployment, and the rest of us with jobs working 50, 60, 70, 80 hours a week, NO raises, NO more 401k match.

Ahhhh...but it feels good to know our tax dollars are paying for Obama to frolick on vacation.

While Obama is there, he should go to Chappaquiddick with Ted [but don't let Teddy drive!].

Anything can happen...

Mark Foley could show up, then there's that bridge to nowhere that Teddy discovered!

Obama leaves town and Holder goes to town - let's see we're now establishing Obama KGB and we're going to release all the files we can find on the CIA. But why do we need the CIA or the FBI for that matter when his Royal CZAR in Chief now has his own personal KGB?

It's almost like Obama is trying to distance himself from the vindictive leaks, smears, threats or lawsuits, intimidation, undermining of national security.

Well, it ain't working, we're onto your tactics.

Maybe with all his free time he ought to read his health care bill instead of novels, and after he reads it, sit down for about four days with 6 or 7 lawyers, so they can explain it "to him" and "to us" without any spin.

Yep, just regular folks those Obama's.

Don't know to many regulars who vacation at Martha's Vineyard. But, [The Hampton's might be a whole different story!] Glad to see he is relaxing as he is in for one heck of a bad ride the remainder of the year. Can't wait until they bring back the illegal immigrant amnesty bill.

If Obama thinks Healthcare reform fired up the mobs, wait until they try to legalize 12 million law breakers.

We wonder what Stinky's handicap is?

Maybe when Obama gets back from vacation he can get Frank Lay and Robert Freeman, pardoned for saying "a little prayer before eating!"

Obama quoted scripture last week so surely he will be sympathetic to Frank and Robert's cause.

So, President Obama, thank you for destroying our economy in only 7 months with the bogus 876 billion dollar stimulus plan. Thanks for your 3 trillion dollar healthcare plan. Thanks for your Crap and Tax bill that will destroy the entire coal industry and cause electric utility costs to "sky rocket" as you once said.

But hey, take another vacation while middle class Americans worry when you will start to tax us to death to pay your idiotic wealth redistribution plans!

So have a great vacation, President Obama, you will be seeing all of us in Washington D.C. on September 12, 2009, for the March on Washington!

CASH FOR CLUNKERS

Cash for Clunkers may be ending - for now.

The end of a "PERFECT PROGRAM"...AHHHH, sure feels warm and fuzzy.

To all of you out there who could NOT qualify for the C4C program, just wait. Within 6 months 9 at the most there will be a huge influx of REPOS on the market from folks who had NO business buying a NEW CAR to begin with (sound familiar).

Why do you suppose these people had 8,10, or 14 year old vehicles?

Maybe because they were paid for, and that is all they could afford.

Since C4C was forced in us it's too bad they didn't give the whole "recycling process" some better thought:

1. Most people that are buying the new vehicles could have bought them without the $4500. (The money just got them to go ahead and purchase now.)

2. Most of the cars traded in were not that old and still ran well.

3. The people with the cars that really needed to be replaced couldn't qualify for the financing.

Therefore, if we just couldn't avoid this thing then how about the following scenarios instead of crushing reasonably reliable transportation.

The cars traded in that were in good running condition, regardless of the fuel efficiency, should have been made available to the people with the "real clunkers" that couldn't qualify for the C4C program.

These vehicles could have been offered "for free" on a straight across trade of their "clunker" for a better car.

This would have then insured that only the worst vehicles would have been the ones being crushed.

All this has accomplished is to cause the prices for used cars to go up because of the cars being traded is not going into the used car market.

Anyone else think this would have made more sense?

Alas, common sense is not a D.C. value!

Just think...

Obamacare will work the same way, trade in your old Dialysis machine for a more efficient model. Oops! Out of money!
