Earlier this month, we was saddened at the passing of James "Mike" Riley, proud Democrat and our Franklin Township Trustee. Mike, who courageously battled cancer, was 55.
The Franklin Township Trustee for three terms, Mike was a loyal Democrat who is remembered as always helping a friend in need. He truly served the citizens of Franklin Township like family. He also served two terms on the Franklin Township Advisory Board and was a former member of the Floyd County Plan Commission. A life long resident of Franklin Township, Mike graduated Floyd Central High School in 1969 and retired from Kitchen Kompact Inc. in Jeffersonville.
Mike was also a member of the Lanesville Lions Club and a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era.
