Since taking office Obama pushed through a $787 billion stimulus, a $33 billion expansion of the child health program known as S-chip, a $410 billion Omnibus appropriations spending bill, and an $80 billion car company bailout.

He also pushed a $821 billion Crap-and-Tax trade bill through the House and has a nearly $1 trillion health-care bill.

All these stimulus bills that were supposed to help, now insurance reform, and crap and tax, how is any of this helping anyone?

Unemployment is still going up and their is talk of a second stimulus in the making.

* The Crap and Tax Trade Bill paid for by Tax Payers for starters $1,761 annually per average family and the Government gets to control your energy usage.

* Remember the Cash for Clunkers? $45,354 cost to taxpayers per vehicle when each car purchased averaged $22-$27,000.

* $18 billion dollar Education Plan yet to be introduced paid for by Taxpayers.

* $5.7 billion dollar Americorp Service Program yet to be introduced paid for by taxpayers.

* The planned Immigration Reform aka: Amnesty with a path to citizenship is estimated to cost between $1-$10 billion dollars paid for by you the Taxpayers and producing between 12 and 20 million new voters.

* The estimated cost of the Afghanistan War is $55 - $100 billion dollars per year for the 69,000 troops already there.

* War Tax...

Is the Kool-Aid wearing off yet people?

President Obama sold you [not us] on his Hope and Change.

Voters didn't realize [or didn't care] that beyond Hope and Change, he really didn't have anything to offer - there was nothing on his skimpy resume indicating that he was even minimally prepared for the job.

We're left with a President who is in far over his head, slugging to comprehend [and doing a poor job of explaining] complex issues.

Obama is not totally responsible for getting us into our current mess. He "is responsible for making it" much worse!

His economic policy has vastly increased our debt with little if anything to show for it.

But it's the middle class that must pay for his appetite.

But we gotta admit, Obama was not afraid to swat that fly!

And for his paranoia about Fox News, he exhibits the same behavior as Kim Jong Il in expecting that ALL people should adulate him.

Last week in a Wal-Mart parking lot we saw a bumper sticker on a pick-up truck that read, "How's that Hope N Change working out for you?"

Why is anybody surprised?

America elected a hustler from the mean streets of Chicago, via Africa. Why the shock? You got the complete package, as advertised.

Government is to set structure but never dictate or take away our freedom of choice. But with this administration our choices seem to become less and less.

Time for common sense and hard line decisions that benefit the American citizen and if it bothers you or disturbs those who are not citizens then so be it!

America has got to start taking care of America.

The "buyer beware" signs were posted before the sale was closed November 2008.

So, FORGET your so called "educated book smarts," it's time for US common sense people to STEP UP and VOTE them Congress members out of office!

Obama will call for a clean energy bill in his Oval Office address on the oil spill tonight, as part of a renewed push for the once all-but-abandoned legislation.

It is our opinion it should be "abandoned" and the reason why is we have read the bill!

Trust us, if this bill passes:

1. We can not and will not, or won't even be able to sell our homes.

2. Gasoline and electricity will be out of most of our range for affordability.

For Obama to change his stance on this subject only makes the president look weak. Obama is the one that defended and authorized offshore drilling. Either he authorized the drilling on a whim, without knowing the possible consequences that came along with it, or he did despite knowing the consequences.

So now we see the real reason he was slow on stopping the spread. Political use of the disaster and because of this environmental disaster we will raise your energy cost (Crap and Tax Bill) to punish you and us for using fossil fuels.

Energy, health care, banking regulations, national deficit, unemployment, declining manufactured, and etc.

It's a big wack-a-mole.

Everything needs to be attended to at once but typically an administration is forced several steps behind the curve attending to the most recent crisis with less opportunity for investing in the preventative.

The Office of the President of the United States is not a place to make mistakes like these. When you do, the country has to pay for it.

We think any Bush hater can agree to that!

Freedom Of Speech would like to ask why:

Line item 4324 - telephone was $22,000 in year 2007 and now in 2010 Budget, it increased to $40,000?

One day soon, we hope to have a Mayor who has the guts and courage to stand up to the New Albany Police Department and renegotiate their "sweetheart deal" contract.

We also agree with Council member Keith Fetz of Jeffersonville, that all police officers should meet reasonable "fitness standards and have open public negotiations!"

Mr. Mayor if you push this annexation, where will you get the money to provide police protection for the new annexed area?

Our final thoughts:

It's time Mayor England earns the money we are paying him. It's time for him to stop making excuses why these two Department (Police & Fire) cannot sacrifice, and live on a budget just like the rest of us.

Indiana doesn't have a Recall Law. After days of researching Indiana Code, we found that there is a way of removing an elected official from Office.

Indiana Code: 5-8-2-1 Section 1. Any person holding any office under the Constitution or laws of this state who shall voluntarily become intoxicated within the business hours of the office, OR is in the habit of becoming intoxicated by the use of intoxicating liquors, shall be removed from office under IC 34-17.

D-DAY - HAVE WE THE PEOPLE, FORGOTTEN?

Today, June 6, in 1944, the Allies landed on Normandy Beach, the shores of France, to liberate the tortured souls of Europe from a maniac who twisted freedom into a feel-good nationalism that abused and killed millions.

Why are there no flags flying today?

Why is the media silent?

We've seen the movie "The saving of Private Ryan", the grizzly scenes.

Some of us, including yours truly, have seen video footage from the War Memorial Museum, D.C. you know; the kind where standing over a 5' partition only adults may view the horrors. Some of us may be privileged to hear live testimony from our Dad or others.

We remember Pearl Harbor, but somehow the media takes less notice in D-Day, just as it took no notice of any commemoration of Dec. 15th for the Bill of Rights or Dec. 16th for the Boston Tea Party. Such dates elude most of us.

But to let this date go by without notice does not speak well of our appreciation for those who gave so much that we who are alive can commemorate their sacrifice.

ANNIVERSARY OF TIANANMEN SQUARE...

On this the 21st anniversary of the violent suppression of demonstrations in Tiananmen Square by Chinese authorities, we should remember the tragic loss of hundreds of innocent lives and reflect upon the meaning of the events that preceded that day.

Hundreds of thousands of protesters took to the streets for weeks, in Beijung amd around the country, first to honor the late reformist leader Hu Yaobang and then to demand basic rights denied to them.

A China that has made enormous progress economically, and that is emerging to take its rightful place in global leadership, should examine openly the darker events of its past and provide a public accounting of those killed, detained or missing, both to learn and to heal.

This anniversary provides an opportunity for Chinese authorities to release from prison all those still serving sentences in connection with the events surrounding June 4, 1989. We urge China to cease the harrassment of participants in the demonstrations and begin dialogue with the family members of victims, including the Tiananmen Mothers.

China can honor that memory of that day by moving to give the rule of law, protection of internationally-recognized human rights, and democratic development the same priority as it has given to economic reform.

Here we are folks, a ring side seat to Chicago politics on a national scale.

Friday, on Fox News little scumbag, Bob Beckel, summed up what the Democrats think about the law, and about rules in general.

When asked whether Obama broke the law by bribing Sestak, Beckel replied, "It's not breaking the law if you do it right." In other words, it's not bribery if you get away with it in other words, rules don't apply to Obama!

Obama will deny everything and they will have a fall guy ready to take the hit followed by a cushy job in one of the democrats political arms like Acorn, Alliance Foundation, Freddie or Fannie.

You can bet your sweet bippy Eric Holder is going to be hiding under his desk on this one. No way is he going to recommend a "special prosecutor" to look in to this sordid mess.

As for as anyone saying they don't think this is a big deal, neither was a little break-in at the Watergate. It's been three months, so there has been a cover-up, and that is almost always what brings down the high-and-mighty.

And Obama is a serial offender at "soliciting or receiving any thing of value, in consideration of the promise of support or use of influence in obtaining for any appointive office or place under the United States. "

See his record with "not one, not two, but three Democrats (Sestak, Romanoff and Blagojevich) all implicating the agent of "Hope and Change" in dirty backroom schemes".

We say "waterboard" Sestak until he breaks!

It has always amazed us, how, when the Dems are caught with their hands, buried up their elbows in the cookie jar and their mouths covered in cookie crumbs, will immediately deny, then accuse and then blame.

Try as they may however, this time, "it's George Bush's fault" just isn't going to cut it!

Obama believes that borrowing and spending will reduce debt and ensure a debt free future - Barack Obama just needs more time for borrowing and spending and America will be debt free.

1. We'll pass Health Care Reform that will reduce cost and cover every American.

2. We'll be the most transparent Government in History.

3. We'll open debates aired on C-Span and given the American people to review any new legislation prior to passage.

4. We'll restore the economy and put people back to work.

5. We will restore the Nation to sound fiscal policy by going through the budget line by line and eliminating all wasteful spending and NO MORE EARMARKS!

6. We will finally achieve energy independence.

7. There will be NO more Red America and Blue America only the United States of America with bipartisan negotiations for all legislation.

It's in the New York countryside, not far from the Clinton home in Chappaqua.

* It's got an A-list that would choke a horse, despite Chelsea's mom, Hillary, describing the wedding as a "private affair."

The Clinton's know everybody, can you even imagine what security will be like?

The million dollar question is, who will design Chelsea's wedding dress?

We have it on good authority and we are putting "our money" on Oscar de la Renta.

If family ties have anything to do with it, then all signs point to Oscar de la Renta.

So it won't be a shock to us if Chelsea walks down the aisle clad in the designer's handiwork!

Now, suddenly, if you don't have your papers...you're going to be harassed, the president said. "That's not the right way to go." Obama needs to do his homework, because since 1940, it has been a federal crime for aliens to fail to keep such registration documents with them.

The Arizona law simply adds a state penalty to what was already a federal crime.

Moreover, as anyone who has traveled abroad knows, other nations have similar documentation.

It is a fact that Arizona is the ground zero of illegal immigration. Phoenix is the hub of human smuggling and the kidnapping capital of America. It's no surprise that Arizona's police associations favored the bill, along with 71 percent of Arizonans.

And, we totally agree THAT... Jose Illegal should come in the front door, just like Joe Legal did!

So, all in all, a bunch of know nothings who haven't read the bill are making up their own version of it to suit their politics, then Calderon comes in as BO's sock puppet to blast Arizona, then admits his country does worse. We just love the smell of hypocrisy from this regime early in the morning. The stench reaches across the country. And all this is in their own words!!!

And guess what?

Then Calderon goes on Wolfe Blitzer and says what they do in Mexico:

* jail people who cross their borders illegally

But Calderon chastised Arizona for trying to protect their border.

Maybe next time he comes for a visit, we can load his plane and sent some of his illegals back with him and serve him bologna instead of tax payers footing the bill for $1,000,000 meal and party.

WILL THE TRIBUNE HAVE "THE GUTS" TO PRINT THIS LETTER?

Mr. Nash, what part of "NO" don't you understand?

In regards to Mr. Nash's column in the May 14th Tribune. I have a few responses.

First of all, I can spell YMCA and to insinuate I can't is a slam to the NAFC School System, which I did graduate in 1977 midterm.

I think that crosses the line just a little bit, Mr. Nash.

As far as the reason I voted "NO" on the YMCA, it was due to how it was finance and also them using citizen's property taxes to backup the loan, which you failed to mention.

I voted "NO" on the Sewer Board updates from a CPA because by ordinance and up until January 2, 2008 we were receiving monthly sewer financial reports from Controller Garry and also she is being paid extra to stay on top of Sewer finances.

I felt it was expanding government and double dipping in taxpayer's money. It's also what I consider having another person to add to another "layer of fat" we already have in local government.

I voted "NO" on the Sewer Rate Increase because we already have some of the highest sewer bills in the entire State of Indiana.

The Sewer Fund has been raided for years, even our Controller was quoted in the Tribune warning against raiding the sewer fund.

Mr. Nash, tell me why should honest, hard working citizens of New Albany be penalized for:
(1 ) Lack of Leadership
(2) Bad management
(3) Not addressing the problems immediately

So "NO" to that!

As far as a solution to our city's sewer problems:
(1) Revamp Sewer Board
(2) Micro Manage the utility
(3) Use EDIT to relieve the burden on rate payers (it's their money) and use CDBG and TIF Funds.
(4) Stop raiding the Utility
(5) Collect Delinquent Sewer Liens

Also Mr. Nash, I want the $450,000 Georgetown owes the citizens of the City of New Albany.

That was my plan.

I voted "NO" on the $2.00 a month Garbage Fee increase because I have been told from other companies that they could do it cheaper. Also, if a private company can make a profit, why can't we?

Why can we hire local citizens and just break even?

Giving rate payers a break and putting local citizens to work. That sounds logical to me!

As far as take home cars. I am not satisfied with current policy. Mileage is a problem and maintenance is a large expenditure when we get new cars they should not leave the city.

Funding for the Police and Fire Departments can be accomplished thru renegotiation of contracts just like FORD, GE, and other companies are doing throughout America.

The current employees now do not change. But, the new ones come in under a different system.

We are a city of 35 to 37 thousand citizens and cannot sustain 60 to 100 thousand dollar a year in jobs.

By taking these proactive measures in all departments our children and families will have a clean, safe and affordable New Albany.

In closing Mr. Nash, there's been far more people like you and your ideas on the City Council over the years than people like me and I don't believe in raising fees, tax and spend methods, when there are other options.

Maybe that's why our city is in the mess we are in!!!

Does England think this is monopoly money?

So far England has spent our EDIT Funds on a CPA, Council Attorney salary and now Ramps.

What do you bet, it's a Resolution and not an Ordinance?

You would think this could wait until the 2010 Budget was approved before he continues to spend more money.

Hey Mr. Mayor, we had a brainstorm: Let Redevelopment pay for these ramps instead of using EDIT money!

This week Attorney General Eric Holder tells Jake Tapper that alleged Times Square bombing screw up Fasial Shahzad was facilitated, financed and working under the direction of the Pakistani Taliban.

While that clears some things up, remember that there is still a middle-aged Tea Party supporter stalking the Nutmeg State, who is angry about the housing crisis and the health care bill, with his citizenship still in good standing, and probably linking up with our home-grown militias for more one-off attacks...

Muslim terrorists have devastate the United States society in the daylight which definitely is not the "root cause" of U.S. troubles! The "real root cause" of the existing U.S. trouble is: the U.S. Systems are completely failed from the bottom up. And to the levels that the U.S. laws and justice at the present time are crippled or unable to cope with massive Jihad-killers who have been transformed into U.S. citizens to sit next to your backyard to do harm to this U,S society as freely as the nation has allowed them to come in and achieve their bad deeds.

What is most scary is how the real terrorists have used this fool to test out the defenses and tracking systems of NYC. Sorta like "testing the water". Now the competent terrorist (domestic or foreign) now have a very good idea how the security system works in NYC.

They now have a better understanding of how the camera's are laid out, and more importantly, how long it will take authorities to respond. This may seem like an incompetent fool but maybe his handlers knew what they were doing!

One does wonder how people this stupid are given special employment visas, doesn't it?

"NO AMNESTY!"

We need Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, not reform. We need to restore respect for the law and the faith of the American people that their government is not selling them out. Amnesty for the illegal aliens is also amnesty for the corrupt companies who have been employing them.

Yes, immigration means legally becoming a citizen. The millions who enter illegally are aliens. There is no such thing as an "illegal immigrant!"

We the people of the United States of America have the right to have our borders and our laws respected and enforced.

Citizens of other countries illegally in our country has no right to demand anything from our government. They most certainly have the right to petition the government of their home countries for change if they are unhappy with their home country.

If they want to be Americans, we have a path to citizenship, more generous than any other nation, and it starts in their home country.

We need to insist on the equal protection, application and enforcement of the law or devolve into anarchy. Our Republic only functions if everyone follows the same rules. We should not change the laws to accommodate those breaking them.

If America announces to the world "We can't stop you, so come on in" with another amnesty, the deluge will be overwhelming. If 3,000 a day didn't get your attention, then wait until it's 10,000 a day.

We cannot sustain this influx and survive as a nation.

We should not let false claims of racism or bigotry be used to intimidate us into silent assent.

America is not Congress' to give away. America belongs to We the People!
It's O.K. for us to enforce our laws, no really, it is...

We have loads of friends all over the State of Indiana. We marched in Indianapolis over property taxes and recently marched together on April 15, 2010 in Washington, DC. Seems like we all have more in common then we knew.

The lawyer for a former northwestern Indiana mayor says a federal court order that he and two former employees pay $108 million in civil damages is "uncollectable."

A federal judge issued the order Thursday in a racketeering lawsuit filed by the state, claiming that former East Chicago Mayor Robert Pastrick and others spent $24 million in public money on private driveways, patios and walkways to court voters in 1999.

Is former mayor Pastrick a friend of our Mayor England?

Has any of our money been used in New Albany for personal or political favors?

Did you donate to the England campaign to get a personal favor?

Attorney General Greg Zoeller said his office will "dedicate all necessary efforts" collecting the judgement.

MORE RATE INCREASES....

Last Friday, the IURC approved a rate increase for Indiana American Water. In our district (Jeffersonville, and New Albany), the average residential water bill increase $8.91 per month or 27.5%.

The new rates are expected to go into effect May. 1, 2010. We should have the approved IURC stamped tariffs within a few days.
