VAT TAX...
Webster's defines "Value added tax" as: "A tax on the estimated market value added to a product or material at each stage of its manufacture or distribution, ultimately passed on to the consumer."
Obama's senior economic adviser, Paul Volcker, is recommending that the administration inflict on the American people a European style Value Added Tax (VAT).
This is a tax that politicians love because by law it is hidden from the person that must pay it, the consumer, just like the hidden taxes on every gallon of gasoline.
Another reason politicians love it because they can raise the tax rate at anytime and the consumer will never know it because it is against the law to show the amount of the VAT on the consumer's purchase receipts.
The tax starts with each individual piece of material needed to build the item, then the builder adds another tax for the item itself, then the final seller tops it off with yet another tax.
While we were in Washington, DC, we had a meeting with our favorite Senator (Evan Bayh) and asked him to explained the VAT Tax, and we thought we would share this with you our readers.
Let us try to explain to you how it is designed to steal your money without you knowing it:
The VAT taxes the value added to each step in the development of every product.
As an example he gave, suppose GM is building a car and the VAT rate is 20%, which is less than the European rate. Assume they buy all the parts from parts suppliers, who in turn buy only materials. If the part suppliers buy $5,000 worth of raw materials, they will pay $6,000. The raw materials company will send $1,000 (VAT) to the government. The suppliers then sell the parts to GM for $15,000. GM will pay $18,000 for the parts ($3,000 VAT), but the suppliers will send the government only $2,000 plus proof of the $1,000 already paid. GM then sells the car to a GM dealer for $25,000 plus $5,000 VAT. It sends the government $2,000 plus proof of $3,000 already paid. The GM dealer sells the car to a consumer for $30,000 plus $6,000 VAT. The GM dealer sends the government $1,000 plus proof of the $5,000 paid. The consumer pays $36,000 for the car.
Talk about a scam on consumers!

It also means taxes on all services, doctor bills, plumbing bills and services rendered. If there already state taxes charged on products and services it will be collected in addition to the state sales tax that still will be collected.
And guess what?
Every single person in the United States that has to eat, drink, have a roof over their head, drives a car, or has to buy any item, for any use, will be paying this tax through the nose.
Obama has finally found a way to even tax the homeless, since even they must eat at some point in their day.
"And if it is enacted, you can bet the farm that even if we get a Republican majority, it is not going away!"
At this point in his administration, the majority of the people in this country are beginning to realize they have elected a "Madman" to steer the Ship of State.
What they are realizing after 16 months of being his passenger, is that Obama's motto is: Drive it like you stole it!"
So, how's that "hope and change" working for you?

A TOOL BANK? FOR REAL?
Redevelopment had five public meetings to hear what citizens wanted them to use CDBG money on. This is something Redevelopment themselves came up with before the fifth meeting was ever held.

Running a marathon is a goal that many people have, but for some reason most people don't ever get around to doing it.
The Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and mini Marathon are growing in popularity every year. Race organizers this year have the combined entries of over 12,000 runners.
Freedom Of Speech is proud to announce that out of the over 12,000 runners of the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and mini Marathon 2010 we have 6 staff members registered as participants to run the 26.2 mile course and the 13.1 mini Marathon.
Runners in the Derby Festival Marathon & mini marathon will start their race at the same time and place at 3rd Street and Rochester Drive near Iroquois Manor. Marathon runners will follow the mini marathon route until the Mile 10.5. Runners of the Marathon will split off the course at 7th and Breckinridge, turning right, completing the 26.2-mile distance. The Marathon route will continue east on Breckinridge to Barrett Avenue, through the Highlands area and Cherokee Park, along Cherokee Road to Baxter, Main, 2nd Street Bridge crossing into Southern Indiana, returning to Kentucky, eventually rejoining the mini marathon route at 3rd and Main.

SO HERE'S OUR "THANK YOU," MR. PRESIDENT...
Okay, we will oblige.
Mr. President, we want to thank you for seizing General Motors and Chrysler. We want to thank you for appointing a pervert as our safe schools czar. We would like to thank you, Mr. President for the generational theft that you have committed with all of this borrowing and spending. You have spent the wealth of two to three, maybe four generations in the future, before they're even born.
We want to thank you, Mr. President, for insulting and endangering Israel. We want to thank you, Mr. President, for driving up the unemployment rate to near double digits for years to come. We want to thank you, Mr. President, for telling everybody that it's going to be double digits as the new norm.
We want to thank you, Mr. President, for exploding the annual deficit to the level where it can never be repaid.
We'd like to thank, Mr. President, for targeting and destroying private health insurance companies. We want to thank you, Mr. President, for pushing for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to stand trial in New York City and receive full constitutional rights at a cost of $200 million per year. We want to thank you for that.
We want to thank you for helping to destroy the housing market, Mr. President.
And, Mr. President, we would love to thank you for your arrogance, because arrogance is part and parcel of an authoritarian leader of a regime.
We would like to also thank you, Mr. President, for your divisiveness. We would like to thank you for ignoring the public union pension time bombs waiting to explode out there.
We would like to thank you, Mr. President, for mocking and disrespecting the American people.
And we'd like to thank you for your never-ending support of the New Black Panthers and for ACORN.
We'd like to thank you, Mr. President, for embracing our enemies and snubbing our allies.
But most of all, Mr. President, thank you for arousing the sleeping silent majority because we have been asleep too long.
November is coming, Mr. President. That is when we will really thank you!

CUT OUR LOSSES & TEAR DOWN LINDEN MEADOWS....
City of New Albany, Indiana Consolidated Plan: Fiscal Years 2010-2014
Linden Meadow Project Acquisition/Rehab: $100,000. (FY10)This is a project to address the condition of houses in the Linden Meadows development (ghetto), which were donated by Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, Inc. to the New Albany-Floyd County Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). The CHDO was not able to sustain/complete the project. The City has engaged in dialogue with IHCDA and private entities to identify a program to complete the development.
1. Sewer Board will NOT try to collect TAP-In Fees from 3 houses and God only knows how many more free Tap-In's were given.
2. Fee to connect to New Albany Sewer System is $1,800 per resident.
3. The state halted work at Linden Meadows due to structural and funding concerns.
4. Houses remain empty and unfinished and several are boarded up.
5. Three homeowners were led to believe that the CHDO Board management had paid the tap-in fees.
6. CHDO Board management defaulted on the Linden Meadows loan with PNC Bank last year.
7. The city has NO ownership in Linden Meadows.
8. New Albany Redevelopment Commission agreed to spend about $5,000 each on the 3 occupied houses for repairs that were not completed by Community Housing.

After selling his soul to Nancy Pelosi, it appears that Bart Stupak finally found the courage to tell her "NO!" The political fallout over the Democrats government takeover of healthcare has put the political careers of many Democrats in jeopardy thanks in part to Stupak's decision to abandon his alleged pro-life principles.
Another democrat bites the dust.
This sounds exactly what "will happen" if New Albany Council members support a sewer rate increase and $1.8 million for police and fire.

CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH...
By the way, we've never seen a girl, or a sissy boy throw a baseball as bad as Obama did for the ceremonial first pitch.
(So, he'll soon have a Cy Young Award to put on a shelf next to his Nobel.)
Heck most Little League pitchers could have done a better job!
Obama said in the interview with Rob Dibble during the opening day broadcast that he grew up as an Oakland A's fan. We wonder if he could have answered a question about his favorite players from the 1972, 1973 and 1974 seasons when the A's won three World Series championships.
We can and we are not even A's fans. Gene Tenace, Reggie Jackson, Jim "Catfish" Hunter, Rollie Fingers, Vido Blue, Joe Rudi, Blue Moon Odom just to name a few.
We wonder if we can get Obama to be the starting flagman at Talladega or can we get him to receive the kick-off at the next Superbowl?

In a March 16 memo to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Peter Orszag quietly ordered federal agencies to resume funding the group whose employees were caught on hidden camera videos last year condoning a variety of crimes including child prostitution and tax evasion.
The discal floodgates are opening for the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN), the president's former employer and legal client, despite a congressional ban on funding the activist group that has been long been a practitioner of election fraud!
After all, Obama still needs them for his re-election campaign. He will need them 100 times in every state. He will need them to threaten, intimidate, and/or bribe people, especially voters of his opponent.
Just like he did in the caucuses when he bussed in people from out-of-state, to caucus in every state and in every precinct.
What does Obama care?
It's only the taxpayers money, after all.
After all, he certainly owes us a great big, "thank you" for his new home in the White House!

CONGRESS MEMBERS: PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
Sure, we that really pay attention will know and understand what is really going on in Washington.
We've been there protesting several times!
If there are threats, specific threats, sure, investigate them as they normally would. There have been threats against government officials as long as there has been government.
We saw stories on CNN and MSNBC about phone calls that have been left to the members. We noted that they used the word "threat" several times, but the recorded messages they played included no threats, just name calling and rude messages.
Can someone honestly tell us that this didn't happen just as much on the other side when the anti-war movement was at it's peak?
Can someone honestly say that negative, crude phone calls haven't been the normal experience of U.S. congresspeople since the invention of the telephone?
It's part of being in the public eye and making decisions that are going to upset people.
The real victims in this entire healthcare vote are the American people, not the Congress members who cry "racist and accuse protesters of using the N word."
As with any news story that comes out of Washington, BS detectors should be fully functioning!
There is several video's that conclusively shows that there was no spitting or slurs, check this one out:
This video of Carson of Indiana and Lewis shows none of it during that walk. The AP carries the story that Carson said to a reporter the "N-word" was said "15 times" during his walk from the Cannon House Office Building. First of all, we are amazed he would wait around to count 15 times, and secondly, you view the video and see if these words were ever used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SCs6pSE8_1
We are sure that we could show many more that the "threats" are nothing in the run of things, but to listen to CNN, MSNBC, CBS and NBC, this was unprecedented rage that surely showed a murderer around every corner.
Give us a break!
Political theatre designed to smear the Tea Party and wrong-foot Republicans and make them play defense...
Our answer, "Show us who EXACTLY spit on you or called you the "N" word!" and when everything else fails "you democrats play the Obama race card!"
And when these threats and actions are verified and then laid at the foot of Tea Party members, THEN we'll talk! Until that time this is just speculation and Obama's, Pelosi's, Reid's, and democrat's planted rumors.
We marched September 12, 2009, with well over 1.3 million, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, African Americans, and every religious group on this earth. Not one arrest, nor any fights, this is all to make Tea Party groups look bad.

If there are threats, specific threats, sure, investigate them as they normally would. There have been threats against government officials as long as there has been government.
We saw stories on CNN and MSNBC about phone calls that have been left to the members. We noted that they used the word "threat" several times, but the recorded messages they played included no threats, just name calling and rude messages.

AN OPEN LETTER TO BARON HILL...
Congress has a history of destroying businesses, families, economics and lives based on good intentions. Good faith efforts are fine, but you will not be able to undo the massive damage after the fact.
The unintended consequences of this bill will destroy our health care system.
Government ran health care programs (Medicare, Medicaid and VA) are now and have always been on the verge of collapse.
If you haven't fixed the waste, fraud and abuse in these systems, why should we trust you to fix our private plan?
Should health care be improved? insurance reform? (Yes) however not on this massive scale. This Bill needs to be scraped before our country is destroyed by the massive cost in the form of money, jobs and lives.
Name one time that a government take over of anything has resulted in saving money.
How many $700 hammers will it take to fix Floyd Memorial Hospital? How many $500 bedpans will they have to order?
How much government paper work will our insurance provider have to fill out for our stubbed toe or broken bones?
Has Congress thought of all the added cost they are pulling into the system? (NO) Will our premiums go up? (Yes).
President Obama said "you can Keep your Doctor and Keep your plan". NOT if the plan goes under or our doctor drops our plan.
Think of all the mess that will be because of your vote.
Your duty is to represent the citizens of this state!
If you want to represent Obama, Pelosi, lobbyist, the big corporations or the unions, you will be accountable.
There will be plenty of Citizens who will be making plenty of campaign contributions to your opponents!
The time is coming for the American people (those that work and pay taxes) to make a serious choice, and take a stand. We're losing our country. Does anyone care?
