CONTACT SENATOR EVAN BAYH:

Senator Evan Bayh,

We are writing to ask you to please publicly CONDEMN the recently-released "assessment" from the Department of Homeland Security warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity." Labeling citizens who attended the Indianapolis Tea Party, and returning veterans as "rightwing extremists" and associating them with white supremacists and violent anti-government groups!

Who is funding this kind of Nonsense?

Did YOU vote for this?

Why would our government spend our money attacking our veterans instead of spending our money PROTECTING us?

This report is an insult to military veterans and American citizens, and as a member of the U.S. Senate, we would like to see you and your colleagues TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY to condemn this report, verbal comments and to demand it's retraction by the Department of Homeland Security and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi!

About the Indiana Tea Party:

Yes, taxpayers are "mad as hell" and we are putting our elected officials on notice.

Elites are very comfortable with the sort of top-down, politically correct, taxpayer-funded-so-called community groups like ACORN on the left-after all, and talking points come from their friends [MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, and others] and their allies in Washington to discredit us taxpayers.

Genuine, spontaneous grassroots, on the other hand, is scary to Obama, and especially the media elites who have almost completely ignored the tea party movement, attempting to silence potentially millions of Americans taking to the street.

It's a clear dereliction of their responsibility to report the news and to label taxpayers as rightwing extremist!

Words and actions have consequences, and irresponsible statements, reports and actions fuel fires that are counterproductive to democracy in America.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tries to dismiss the genuine populist outrage by calling it fake, alleging that the grassroots is really made of AstroTurf, a front for corporate interests.

The Tea Parties are structured very differently.

A general anti-tax, anti-debt, and anti-bailout rebellion doesn't advance any special interests. There is NO single leader. This is a broad effort with hundreds and thousands of "mad as hell taxpayers."

The populist backlash against our government looting of wealth via taxes, regulations, debt, and bailouts is real. The backlash over elites telling ordinary Americans how to live their lives through a media drumbeat, and forcing them to comply through laws and regulations is also real.

Tax dollars continue to enrich Washington bureaucrats and Wall Street bankers at the expense of ordinary Americans, with even higher taxes on the horizon. We are facing trillions in debt for out-of-control special interests spending at the expense of all the workers [and their children and grandchildren] in Indiana and other states who will have to pay it all back with interest!

Please, do the RIGHT thing -- publicly CONDEMN the Department of Homeland Security document, and tell House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, we are NOT "Rightwing Extremist, we are Hoosiers, and we are mad as HELL!"

Sincerely,
