Government! You can't live with it! You can't live without it! It is like a "common cold" that everyone dreads.
Given the sometimes-surreal nature and melodramatic tone of New Albany's municipal mess. We only wish the City Council understood the sentiment behind the line.
Judging from a few of the members' initial reaction Tuesday morning to a long-awaited analysis of who-did-what-wrong at the last City Council meeting, they still don't get it.
They continue to be responsible for rubberstamping a scheme for the mayor to get the $5 million dollar bond for the YMCA.
Is this the only way the YMCA can pay their part?
Has the Mayor provided accurate financial information to the council for this project?
Why is the City backing this bond, especially when it is the YMCA problem?
How much commission is Jimmy and Attorney Gibson going to make off this deal?
Counciman Price at this meeting was the only one who recognizes that there is something wrong with this entire deal with Scribner Place.
If it's such a great deal, then, why didn't the banks back the YMCA?
Freedom Of Speech also feels "there is no more important function for all of local government but to define the rights of it's citizens." We do believe it is called checks and balances!
